Asinine, Paul. You want to get on a plane with 250 other people, I see no reason why ID shouldn't be required. If there is no law requiring it, one should be passed.
It is one more check valve to ensure the safety of everyone flying. If you don't like it, blame Osama Bin Laden, not a "repressive American regime".
If you have nothing to hide, why would you have an issue with showing your driver's license? How does that differ from a passport as ID, required for international travel since G-d knows when?
